Building Committee Report
2009 Activity
Displayed below is a recap of the 2009 activities of the Building Committee. First of all, I would like to thank both Ron Reitz and John Brandstatter for their help with this Committee.
As has become our custom, during the spring of 2009 every unit was visually inspected by the Committee and for those residents who provided comments, particular attention was paid to these comments and/or needs. The Committee has noticed that repairs continue to trend down and this is as a result of our vigilance of inspecting each unit on an annual basis. Most units were in excellent condition and the vast majority of repairs and/or maintenance was caulking and painting, especially front entranceways and garage doors on the painting front and windows on the caulking front.
Additionally, as part of our continued maintenance program, a number of driveways in the upper section of the community were sealed to ensure their longevity.
An unexpected maintenance item that faced the community this year was the need to bring to ground level the sanitary sewer manholes adjacent to buildings five and seven. Unfortunately, this leveling process should have been done when the buildings were originally completed but was yet another issue that the homeowners had to address rather than its rightful addressee, the Declarant.
This fall we once again asked homeowners to provide their comments relative to their unit on maintenance needs and received a handful of suggested concerns. Again, we asked those who had not taken the time to provide this information to help the Building Committee maintain our community at the high quality we all deserve.
Key items for 2010 will include the sealing of upper Village Green Drive from the intersection of Evergreen Drive to the upper cul-de-sac. Additionally, leveling the mailboxes will also be an issue that will be addressed.
In summary, anyone who would like to participate in the Building Committee is invited to contact any Committee member or the Board, as we would love to have more input and help. Once again, I’d like to thank the Committee members for all of their volunteerism that benefits each and every one of us.
